Welcome to the memorial page for

Florence V. (Oertel) Eberhardt

February 23, 1923 ~ June 16, 2016 (age 93) 93 Years Old

Florence “Flossie” V. Eberhardt, age 93 of Clintonville peacefully entered her long awaited Heavenly home Thursday afternoon, June 16, 2016 at the Aster Retirement Community in Clintonville.

Florence was born on February 23, 1923 in Laona, WI as the daughter of the late Paul and Ella (Gorke) Oertel.  At the age of 4, Florence’s father passed away and she later moved with her mother back to Marshfield to live with her grandparents.  In 1932 Florence moved back to Shawano where she graduated from high school in 1940.  On September 28, 1943 (during WWII) she was united in marriage to Roy Eberhardt in Shawano.  Florence traveled with Roy during his service and the couple settled back in Roy’s hometown of Clintonville in 1946 where the couple resided ever since.  Roy preceded Florence in death on October 12, 2007. Florence’s life and dedication to her Lord led her to many years of faithful member at St. Martin Lutheran Church in Clintonville.  At St. Martin, Florence was a past President of the Parent Teacher League, Sunday School and Vacation Bible School Teacher for 15 years, Bethel Teacher, member of Ladies Aid, served as a Shepard, and volunteered for countless other activities.  She was also very active in her community as a past President and member of Valparaiso University Guild, past President and member of the Clintonville American Legion Auxiliary Unit #63, past President and member of the Clintonville Hospital Auxiliary, and was also a member of the Red Cross Gray Ladies & the Red Hatter’s.  Florence always made a point of listening to people and genuinely cared about the well being of others, especially when it came to her own family. No matter the task, she stood strong in the faith of her Lord and took any opportunity to share His love for us with others.
